Soldiers of Nasutitermes rippertii have reddish heads, covered with dozens of bristles. This species builds large, dark brown, arboreal and epigeal nests; arboreal nests are elongate. Although N. rippertii feeds on dry wood, it is of a lesser pest than N. corniger. This species is Antillean in distribution and known from Cuba, Hispaniola, the Bahamas, and possibly Jamaica.
